The pictures illustrate the transition of the town’s shopping centre from the present to the future proposed scheme.
Overall, there are several changes, the most important of which are the addition of recreational and commercial facilities and the construction of an escalator. Notably, the configuration of shops and department stores will be changed to accommodate more amenities.
Regarding the first floor of the shopping centre, the department store is expected to remain in its original location; however, its layout will be transformed from the L-shape into a square pattern, providing extra space for consumers. Adjacent to the store, the cash machine will remain unchanged, followed by the lift, which will be moved from the right corner to the middle of its site. Moreover, shops in front of the store will be demolished, while the shops next to the ATM will be increased in size to form a complex of shops. Meanwhile, shops located at the bottom of the map will be converted into a supermarket. An escalator will be installed in the center of the map, replacing the stairs.
Moving on to the second floor, the line of shops at the bottom of its site will be removed to make way for a cinema, providing an entertainment method for visitors. Additionally, the row of shops at the top of its map is projected to be reconfigured to become a rectangular block, occupying a quarter of the total space at the top right corner of its site. This transition allows more open space to construct a department store at the top left corner, accompanied by the addition of an ATM and a lift in the middle. Finally, an escalator will be installed in the former stairwell space.
