The image contains illustrations and text labels depicting the life cycle of salmon with three main stages: "fry," "smolt," and "adult salmon." The fry stage shows a diagram of a single fish with size dimensions 3-8 cm, labeled as "upper river" with text "aprox 1 year" accompanied by illustrations of water, weed, fallen tree, and reeds. The smolt stage displays a group of five fish, size indicated as 11-15 cm, with a label "lower river (fast flowing)" and text "aprox 1 year." An arrow points to the adult salmon stage, which exhibits a single fish illustration, size specified as 70-76 cm, with a label "open sea" and text "aprox 4 years." There are two photographs below the smolt stage: one depicting a rocky river with a caption "lower river" with illegible text, and another is a generic open sea image with no text. There are curved arrows between each stage indicating the progression and flow of the life cycle.

The picture illustrates how a type of large fish known as salmon is growing.
Overall, the life cycle of salmon involves only natural steps, beginning with salmon eggs becoming fry and that trend repeats when salmon fish lays eggs. In total the life cycle of salmon fishes can be divided into three various periods: becoming fry, changing to smolt and transforming to adult salmon.
To begin with, salmon eggs have been covered with small stones hidden with high reeds. Eggs stayed there about five or six months where the reeds were still on the upper side of the river. After half a year they become a fry which are about 3 to 8 centimeters.
The next stage involves the transformation of fries to smolt. After the fries flowed on the lower river, however, the river flowed fast. Once swimming on the fast river for about four years, the fries transform to the smolts which are 12 to 15 centimetres long.
Finally, after swimming in the open sea for about five years, then smolts are changed to the adult salmon which are 70 to 76 centimetres in length. After becoming adult salmon, they started lugging eggs where they are hidden by reeds and small stones on the button of reeds.
