The process illustrates the life cycle of the salmon, which have a large size.
Overall, there are six steps, starting from laying a massive number of eggs and ending with reaching their mature form.
At the beginning, the salmon begin their lives as eggs, which are laid under small stones and reeds in upper river areas over a course of approximately 5 to 6 months. Afterwards is the hatching process, resulting in coming out from the eggs and being termed “fry”. In this process, the fish is 3 to 8 cm in length.
By the third phase, the young salmon move to the lower river where the flow is quite fast. After 4 years, they grow in size, reflected by being 12 to 15 cm long and being commonly called “smolt”. At the next stage, the smolt come to the open sea within 5 years and become adult salmon, which are about 70 to 76 cm in length. The cycle then repeats itself again.
