The maps illustrate the transformation of a biomedical campus’s design from 1985 till the present day.
Overall, the campus added more educational and sport facilities, the car park and the playing fields shrunk in size while the office witnessed no change. These changes aim to demand the growing number of students.
In 1985, The campus has a big car park in the North, with an access way on the left side and an exit one on the opposite side, which were bith linked to a pathway heading to the playing fields in the South end. In the Northwest locating an office and a big library to the south of it. Moreover, several classrooms, another smaller car park were placed next to the library. In the eastern part of the campus, there was a two-storey classroom block near the playing fields.
Until these days, the big car park has been reshaped from semi-rectangular to semi-circular shape with the removal of the old pathway. The old library has also been removed to make room for a new learning resources centre, a computer room and classrooms. The two-storey classroom block has been renovated to three-storey one pn which some new classrooms have been built behind. However, only the office has remained intact. As a result of these development, the playing fields have shrunk in size to establish a new pool and a new fitness centre in the Southwest.
