The diagrams below illustrate the process of how uranium is used in the production of nuclear power.
First of all, there are six steps to process of uranium to the production of nuclear power.
The First step shows us uranium is mined with special equipment from the earth. The Step two indicates Uranium ore is converted into first a gas and enriched to make fuel pellets, it is called ”U-235”. The step three, this fuel used in nuclear power stations to deliver up to seven billion kWh of electricity per station per year. After that, in step four, spent fuel is taken away after about 4 years of us-age and then stored. By the way, after step four, directly it can be finish by step six. If spent fuel that cannot be re-processed is stored in stainless steel containers and buried deep in the earth, it can finish. However, after step four, some spent fuel is re-processed and then re-used in the nuclear power station. For this reason, it can be jump step three again.
To sum up, there are six steps how to process of uranium to the production of nuclear. It is changeable because, after 5 steps, process may be finish.
