The given diagram details how the water supply system in Australia works at present and how it would be in future.
Overall, the water supply system in Australia at present involves three major stages, including pure water, storm water and waste water between Dam/ storage, city, households, shops, factories, water treatment plant and river. Besides, in future this process will be involve all 3 processes but they will not extend to the river.
At the beginning of the present water supply system process, pure water goes from dam or storage to households, factories, city, shops. After that, waste water directs to water treatment plant from where waste water goes to river. Otherwise, storm water from city, shops, households, factories directs to river.
In the future water supply system will be including the same first stage but waste and storm water from households, factories, shops and city will be directly go to to the water treatment plant, from where pure water will directs back to Australian city, shops, households and factories. Thus, river will not be included into the process.
