The diagram illustrates the process of how a central heating system operates in a house. Overall, the system uses a combination of water tanks, a boiler, pipes, and radiators to supply both hot water and heating throughout the home.
Cold water first enters the house through a main pipe and is directed into a storage tank located on the upper floor. From this tank, water flows down into the boiler, which is powered by either gas or oil. Inside the boiler, the water is heated and then pumped around the house.
Once heated, the water is sent through radiators in different rooms to provide warmth. At the same time, a portion of the hot water is supplied to household taps for daily use. After circulating, the water cools and returns to the boiler to be reheated. An overflow pipe is also attached to the storage tank to release excess water if needed.
