The diagram illustrates the mechanism of a central heating system. The whole system includes multiple stages that will be outlined below.
First, cold water is supplied into a house. Then it goes into a storage tank, passing another water tank that handles overflows with a help of an overflow pipe. After water has arrived to the storage tank, it is split between different supplies. Gas or oil boiler is connected to the storage tank to heat water comming into the house. Hot water is then provided to taps. Also, a special pump is used to circulate hot water around the heating system. After that cold water is returned back to the boiler. Several radiators are connected to the heating pipes with a help of small tubes.
Overall, the central heating system includes the supplies for storing and heating incoming cold water, radiators to warm up the buiding and taps that provide hot water for household needs.
