The map illustrates the redevelopment plan at Liverton docks between 1980 and the present.
As conspicuous from the map, the current dock shows a complete transformation from a mere dock to a rich functioning density site to accommodate the diverse demands of its inhabitants. The alternations include the disappearance of warehouses on either side of the river alongside ships in the river.
The north of the river was formerly the crane and warehouses but now gives space for a brand new education center, a sailing club, and a kid’s playing ground. On the other river bank, cranes and warehouses are demolished to make room for a riverwalk to the coast that goes through the current hotel and adjacent apartments and parking area at the end of the riverwalk.
In addition, ships in 1980 have been removed and replaced by a ship museum to display relics and artifacts related to ships that are located on the left hand of the map. On the east, the other physical structures that have been added are the bridge across the river and the flood barrier to prevent flooding.
