The diagram describes how the Earth’s temperature is affected by greenhouse effect.
Overall, there are three main stages in how greenhouse gases have caused our planet becomes warmer, starting with heat radiation leads to the increase in the Earth’s temperature and ending with human products is the reason of greenhouse effect, result in global warming.
Firstly, when the sun radiation reaches the Earth, 6 percent is scattered back to the space. Besides, there are 20 percent of radiation is scattered and reflected by clouds while 19 percent of that is absorbed by atmosphere and clouds. Our planet absorbs 51 percent of the heat radiation, leading it to warm. On the second stage, the Earth is heated up by the sun radiation. However, some heat lost into space, especially at night. Then, the heat is trapped by the greenhouse gases in our Earth’s atmosphere. Those heat that cannot fully escape makes our planet suitable for living.
On the final stage, human activities have a big impact on global warming. Factories release emissions that contain pollutants which act as greenhouse gases every day, result in more and more gases in the atmosphere, which means more and more heat is trapped in the Earth surface. Therefore, our planet becomes warmer each day pass; global warming is becoming a serious problem.
