Overall, X brand remained the most popular type of car overtaking both Y brand and Z brand, whereas MVP accounted for the largest proportion.
Evidently, Z brand experienced a dramatic fall and slight rise. From 3,5 million, it dipped sharply to reach a 2 million sales by 2017. Despite this, it rose gradually and ended the period with around 2,3 million sales. In contrast, Y brand witnessed a dramatic rise and fall, from an initial figure of 1,8 million sales, it increased sharply to reach a peak of approximately 2,4 million sales in 2017. In spite of surge, the figure for Y brand dropped rapidly to approximately 2 million sales, by the end of the period. Meanwhile, X brand ended 4-year period without declines, allowing it to overtake Z and Y brand. From an initial figure of below 1 million, it soared to reach a peak of roughly 3 million sales, by 2019.
The pie chart shows that there was only 1% difference between Hatchback City Car and SUV, 27% and 26%. Furthermore, the difference between MPV and Sedan is big, the MPV marked 35% which was highest among five types of cars, while 10% for Sedan. In comparison, Sportscar accounted for 3% out of 100%, making it least popular car type.
