The two charts represent jwhat percentage of energy is used in one typical Australian family along with the proportion of GHG emissions produced by the use of this energy.
Overall,it is clear that while heating accounts for the highest energy use,the largest percentage of greenhouse gases yielded belongs to water heating.
To start with, energy in one typical Australian family was mostly used in heating at 42%. Followed by heating is water heating, consuming up to nearly one-third of the energy at 30%. By contrast, the figure for other appliances is just 15%, and the rest, including refrigeration, lighting and cooling, at 7% , 4% and 2% respectively.
Subsequently, water heating is responsible for the formation of 32% of carbon dioxide emissions, while the energy consumption of other appliances is 28%. In comparison, the figures for heating, refrigeration and lighting assemble for 15% , 14% and 8% correspondingly. Meanwhile, cooling hits the lowest button at 3%.
