The flow chart illustrates the procedures to acquire a driving license in the United States. Overall, there are at least seven steps, commencing with the registration, followed by the completion of three compulsory tests before the driving license is obtained. Additional steps may be mandatory if candidates fail some stages.
The procedure starts when candidates go to the driving license center to register, at which point they have to take an optical test. If failed, their requirement will be rejected. Otherwise, they will proceed to the payment.
After paying the driving test fee, applicants have to do the written exam with two free reattempts. Upon successful completion of the written test, they can advance to the road test. Here, there is no reattempt allowed and candidates have to pay the fees again and retake both the written and road exam. If candidates pass both the tests, they can receive their driving license.
