The given chart presents data on the results of survey conducted in UK on the different types of houses individuals preferred in 2005.
Overall, it is apparent that flats were the most preferred for London’s population, while a small proportion of them chose detached houses. By contrast, the figure for Oxford and Cambridge had identical percentages.
Regarding to the percentage of London residents who preferred living in flats was approximately 58%, representing the highest compared with other cities, while only one-fifth of Cambridge population chose staying in flats, illustrating the lowest. Terraced homes were chosen by around 20% across all cities.
On the other hand, the proportion of residents who favoured detached houses in Cambridge accounted for the largest share at 34%, followed by London and Oxford at 8% and 25%, respectively. Figure for semi-detached homes, Oxford and Cambridge had an identical preference level at 25%, whereas London showed the lowest percentage, making it the least dominant option, which was around 16%.
