Overall, it can be observed that both appliances require wood pellets in order to work. The major difference between them is that the stove heats the house by letting out hot air, while the boiler produces hot water which travels to the radiators.
To operate the pellet stove, it is necessary to insert wood pellets into a compartment called fuel hopper, which then turns into fuel. Once the fuel is in the combustion chamber, it turns into hot air. In turn, the air ultimately leaves the stove through a combustion fan. Meanwhile, any unnecessary air makes its way out through the exhaust duct, which is situated on the back panel of the stove.
Although the process of using a pellet boiler is similar to that described above, the boiler requires an element that its alternative does not, which is cold water. The wood pellets go into their assigned section, which subsequently turns them into fuel. Afterwards, it goes into a section called furnace, where it is combined with cold water. This process creates the hot water that is the distributed through the entire house. The smoke that results as an aftermath of the procedure is freed with the help of a smoke stack.
