The given bar charts illustrate the trends of electric games in South Korea in 2006. The first given grapgh gives information about the players’ age and gender, and the second compares the gamers’ preference for different types of games.
Overall, it can be interpreted that males played video games more than females, and also the most favored type of games was role playing games.
Looking at the first graph, it can be seen that females played a lot lesser than males in every single age group. Nearly half of all gamers (45%) were aged between 20 and 29 years, of which, 35% were males and 10% were females. The second largest group was the 13-19 age group. Males constitued 18% of this figure, while females possessed just under 10%. 14% of gamers were younger than 12, and 15% were older than 30.
According to the second diagram, around 50% of gamers rated role-playing games the most popular, while in contrast, simulation was liked by 10%. Action and Stragety games were rated by gamers at a similar rate. Just a little over 20% of gamers preferred the former, and about 17% of them liked strategy games.
