The line graph compares changes in unemployment rates between men and women of different ages over the period from 1980 to 2040. Overall, it can be seen that females experienced an upward trends, although it fluctuated slightly. By contrast, males remained relatively stable despite some fluctuations. Regarding the age groups, all categories increased, however, they were erratic at some periods.
Females initially increased from 36% to almost 48%, before falling to approximately 30% in 1995 and remained constant for the next 5 years. Nevertheless, it subsequently recovered and reached a peak of roughly 50% in 2005. In spite of the rise, the category fell to about 40% in 2010. Since then it fluctuated but remained within a relatively narrow range overall. Meanwhile, males figure stood at 12% in 1980, increased insignificantly by 1985 and remained on the same level for the next 10 years. Then there was a rise up to 20%, before falling back to previous level in 2005. Some fluctuations happened during the period from 2005 up to 2025 and since then the figure increased gradualy until 2035. From then the line stood unchanged.
In a matter of age groups, all three categories increased. Even though 21-25 years old experienced some fluctuations between 1990 to 2010. Whereas, people who are 25-30 years old and older followed an opposite trend and rose over the same period.
