The pie charts illustrate changes in utilization of social media by men and women in Australia, in two seperate years, in 2011 and 2014.
Overall, it is clear that daily usage of social media was dramatically increased by men over the period, whereas the figures of women experienced a sharp rise in it.
As for men, non-utilization of social media percentages was witnessed a slightly drop from 44% to 30%. By contrast, in the beginning of the period the daily engament on social was 25% however, it has has grown in a fifth. Additionally, using social media once and a few times in a week dropped to 3% for the both categories.
When it comes to women, the figures also experienced a sharp increase in daily utilization, similar to men, rising significantly from 30% to 55%. Surprisingly, at first, the non-usage of social media was 8%, but by 2014, it had risen by a just under fourth. However, the percentage of women using social media a few times a week decreased from 22% to 9% and women who used it only once a week fell by a fifth, starting from 39%.
