Talking with friends comprised 21%, and it slightly rose about 5% from 1985 to 1995.

In contrast,eating out had a huge decline. In 1985 it was the second most popular leisure activity in Europe. Even so, it decreased 23% to 8% between 1985 and 1995, and it became the fourth most popular activity in Europe.
