The chart shows the changes of birth rates in India and the USA between 1920 and 2000. Both of the countries saw a rise before 1950 and reached the peak in that year. Since 1950, the birth rates in both countries has been declining.
Between these 80 years, the birth rate in India has been below the rate in the USA generally. There were two sharp increases during these 80 years. The first one occured in 1935, when the birth rate reached 15% from 10% in 1930. After that, the birth rate went down to 8% in 1945. And this low birth rate remained the same for next 5 years before reathing the peak of 20% in 1950.
Similarly, the birth rate in the USA touched the bottom in 1945 and raised to reach the peak of 15% in 1950.
In 2000, the birth rate in the USA was approximately 9%, while in India the rate was below 8%.
