The line graph illustrates the number of car owned by dwellers in Britain between 1971 and 2007.
Overall, Britain citizens started to buy more cars toward 2007, while those had only one vehicle saw a downward trend and others that didn’t purchase any at all remained fairly stable.
Regarding the proportion of British who had fewer car, one of which was owned by nearly half of the population in the area in 1971, whereas the figure for families that didn’t have one were slightly lower ( around 45% ). Thereafter, this figure stabilise with minor fluctuations over the time span, while the share of one-car households saw a significant decrement of half of its initial number.
Concerning the increasing categories, in 1971, there were very few people have two cars ( abou15% ), while almost nobody at that time bought three or more. However, the figures for those experienced a progressive augmentation throughout. In details, owners of multi-vehicle reached roughly 7% in 2007, whereas two cars ownership rose at a greater extent to eventually surpassed the percentage of sole car owners in 2003, and peaked at nearly 27% at the end.
