The given line graph illustrates the attendance in cinema of Australian over a 20-year period starting from 1990. From an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that all age categories witnessed an upward trend throughout the years. It is also clear that while the 14-to-24 age racket had the highest cinema attendance, the over-50-year-old group had the lowest attendance within the given timeline.
In 1990, the 14-24 age bracket exhibited the most dominant cinema attendance, which was around 90%. This figure subsequently increased annually to reach its highest level in 1996, with around 99%. However, this age cohort then recovered to its initial level before levelling off until 2008, rising to just under 100% at the end of the period. Meanwhile, only 40% of people who fell into the over-50 age cohort went to the cinema in 1990, followed by some fluctuations during the following years. After that, this age category rose gradually to 60% in 2010, remaining the lowest figure of the graph.
Regarding the remaining age groups, the data on people aged 25-34 years old accounted for 60% initially before rising to 80% in 1998, this figure then stabilized at this point until diminished slightly to over 70% at the end of the given period. With the same starting point, the number of individuals aged 35-49 years old climbed gradually before experiencing a slight decrease to 70% in 2002. However, this age cohort went up to 80%, surpassing the 25-34-year-old bracket in 2006, continuing to expand to approximately 85% at the end of the timeline.
