The line chart illustrates the change in Dubai gold sales in 2002. The months are displayed on the horizontal axis while the sales expressed in million of dollars are shown on the vertical axis.
Overall, the trend featured many fluctuations, reaching twice a peak. However, it experienced several falls as well, leading to a proportion of sales in December almost equal to the one documented in January.
Dubai gold sales started at 200 million of dollars in January. Subsequently, this figure soared reaching a peak at 350 million of dollars in February. Nevertheless, the sales rapidly declined in the following months and bottomed out at roughly 100 millions of dollars in both July and September even though a peak was reached in August at approximately 200 thousand of dollars. The trend experienced a sudden surge after the crash in October, but it stabilized soon after, leading to slight increases in the following months. As a matter of fact, the proportion of sales returned to roughly 200 million of dollars by the end of the year.
