The line graph compares data about the number of people living in cities of four Asian countries between 1970 and 2020, with expected figures for 2030 and 2040. Units are measured in percentage.
Overall, in the beginning of the period, Philippines people contained the highest part of Asian people, while Indonesia had a negligible number of people at that time. At the end of the period, it is expected that Mayalsian residents will skyrocket to the peak and Thailand will see a decrease.
In the year 1970, Indonesia’s population percentage was the lowest, and the number of people in Phillippines was the highest among 4 Asian countries, with roughly 13% and 32%, respectively. The percentage population in both countries saw an upward trend and became equal in 2010, containing almost 44%.
Meanwhile, the number of Malaysia’s people was ranked the second in the beginning of the period, and it is predicted there will be a gradual increase until 2024, when it will reach the highest point of about 83%. The percent of Thailand’s population experienced a small increase from 1970 to 1990 by approximately 10% and remained stable over the 30 years till now. Although predictions show that the number of residents in Thailand will rise significantly to 45%, it still will be the lowest number among other countries in 2040.
