The provided line graph shows data about how many people were living in cities in four Asian countries over half a century and predicts how it will change through the following decades.
Overall, it’s clear that the percentage of the population living in cities increased in four countries over the period in question, even though it fluctuated slightly in the Philippines. Moreover, the highest population was in Malaysia among four countries.
In terms of Malaysia and Indonesia, in 1970, 30% and 12% of the total population were living in cities, respectively. Then they rose slightly to about 43% and 21% in 1990, respectively. Afterwards, the city population in Malaysia skyrocketed to nearly 80% in 2020. While in Indonesia, it reached just over 45% of the population who were living in cities. Additionally, it is foreseen that their trend will continue to increase over the following years.
Turning to Thailand and Philippines, at the beginning of the period 20% and 30% of resident were located in cities, respectivrly. ALthough, the number of population in Thailand upward during the period and it will reach 50%. Trend in Philippines increased to reach it’s a peak at 50% before decreased to 40% in 2010.After this fall it grew up again and it predicted to get to roughly 54% at the end.
