The graph illustrates how the proportion of city residents living in 4 countries (Brazil, Uruguay,Ecuador and Argentina) changes over a period of 50 years while also displaying an accurate prediction of the next 2 decades. Overall, it is clear that public housing saw an increase at different rates in each country throughout the years, resulting in remarkably similar percentages. However, predictions for the upcoming years show a slightly slower growth in percentages.
At the beginning of 1970, the two countries sharing similar shares were Ecuador and Uruguay, a 50 year rise resulted in an unparalleled rise to approxametaly 95% by 2020 in Uruguay, making it the most densely populated country on the chart, and to just under 75% in Ecuador.
In Argentina, although more than 60% lived in cities in 1970,urbanisation was popularized and resulted to a gradual increase of 30% by 2020. While about 50% lived in cities at the beginning of the period in Brazil, more people decided to move to the cities by 2020, pushing the population percentage over 80%
Over the next twenty years, predictions show a stable and slow growth of about 3%.Ecuador,however,should expect a general rise to about 80% by 2040.
