The line graph illustrates the amount of oil using in the US, China, Middle East, and Western Europe and Japan between 2009 and 2015, and an estimation for 2025 and 2030.
Overall, there was a decrease in the consumtion of oil in the US and in Western Europe and Japan, while China and Middle East exhibited opposite changes. Additionally, despite a sharp decline, the US consistently had by far the highest figure throughout the period.
The amount of oil consumed in the US started at just under 10 millions of barrels per day in 2009, after which it remained unchanged until 2015, before being predicted to plummet from 10 millions of barrels to exactly 4 millions of barrels per day. Similar changes can be observed in the comsumtion of oil in Western Eutope and Japan, it is projected to decline gradually from precisely 4 millions of barrels to more than 2 millions of barrels per day.
Upward of 2 millions of oil barrels was consumed per day in China in 2009, with a moderate growth to reach a peak of roughly 3 millions of barrels per day. The amount of oil use of China is being forecasted to remain steady onwards. Similar changes, but to lesser extents was seen in the figure of oil consumtion in Middle East, which is expected to increase from less than 2 millions of barrels to approximately 3 millions of barrels per day.
