The line graph reviews data regarding visitors between Cardiff and Dublin over a ten-year period.
Overall, Cardiff visitors witnessed an upward trajectory but the reverse was true for Dublin. Notable too, is the fact that the final period exhibited by far the most pronounced changes followed by the initial period with moderate movements and distantly by mid period with rather low changes.
Focusing first on Cardiff visitors, unlike Dublin, they exhibited rather significant changes during the whole period, albeit recovering back despite some drops in between. Starting off at somewhere in the vicinity of 1 million visitors, it observed relatively fluctuating pattern from 1 million to around 2.3 million, which was dipped back to initial figures between 2011 to 2017. This was then followed by a tremendous increase during 2017-2018 by 3 million. The final period, 2018-2020, witnessed another growth in pattern ranging from almost 4 million to about 5.2 million reaching its peak.
Shifting the focus now on Dublin visitors, it experienced a gradually declining pattern with constant decrease in early years in between. Having dropped from near 4 million, which was by far the highest rate, to 2.8 million visitors, the trend recovered with a slight increase of around 500,000 thousand visitors. The rest of the period, however, witnessed a consistent decline, deteriorating from 3.2 million in 2016 to 2 million in 2020.
