The line graph demonstrates the information about the occupations which were separated by four sectors of economy in the US from 1980 to 2020.
Overall, it can be seen that the manufacturing and agriculture experienced a downward trend. However, retail and healthcare were significantly grown up throughout period, and in the end, they reached the same point.
Between 1960 and 1980, demand for manufacturing rose from 15 million to a peak of 20 million. During the same period, number of retail and healthcare doubled, from around 6 to 10 and from 2.5 to 5, respectively. In contrast, jobs in agriculture sector were halved with 6 million to 3 million.
By 2020, the manufacturing showed dramatical decrease reaching at 13 million jobs, while healthcare increased 5 times more comparing to the beginning (15 million). At the same time, the field of retail also increased, and got up to the equal result as healthcare. Agriculture sphere kept stable falling in the whole period, remaining the least demanded area with approximately 2 million jobs.
