The diagram below shows a report from 2008 that informs the USA energy consumption since 1980 with forecast until 2030. In general overview, petrol and oil sources significantly increase, while coal and natural gas both gradually rise, and in the bottom number the nuclear, solar/wind, and hydropower sources are steadily unchanged.
The amount usage of petrol and oil fluctuated by 35 quadrillion units from 1980 and went up to 40 quadrillion units in 2005, it was estimated to rise higher by add more ten as per 2030. For coal and natural gas as the source of fuel energy, the usage quantities were sightly increase from 15 quadrillion to 23 in 2005. It is projected to add up more for coal and steady as for natural gas.
Nuclear, solar/wind, and hydropower consumption in the same period were always about or above 5 quadrillion from 1980 to 2005. Nuclear and Solar/Wind energy sources is forecasted to increase between 5 to 10 quadrillion in 2030. Meanwhile, the hydropower is projected to fall more under 5 quadrillion during this period.
