The line graph demonstrates information provided by a 2008 report on the USA’s levels of energy consumption from 1980 with predictions untill 2030.
Overall, it can be seen that the amount in quadrillion units for all fuel types, excepting hydropower witnessed a rose during the given time period. While petrol and oil, coal and natural gas increasing significantly, the trends for nuclear and solar/wind projected to have only a slight rose.
The rate of Petrol and Oil started at 35 quadrillion units in 1980 and experienced fluctuations untill 1995, followed by marked growing to 50 quadrillion units untill 2030.
The consumption levels for nuclear, hydropower and solar/wind accounted for around 3 quadrillion units in 1980. Nuclear was climbing up steadily, amounting to about 8 quadrillion units in 2008, while Solar/Wind and Hydropower fluctuating around 4. Nuclear and Solar/Wind expected to maintain the same level and hydropower to be followed by slight decline, finishing at 3 quadrillion units in 2030.
Coal and natural gas totalled to 15 and 20 quadrillion units in 1980, respectively. Coal rose to around 23 quadrillion units in 2008 and predicted to continue this trend untill reaching its peak of around 30 quadrillion units in 2030. Natural gas will grow to approximately 25 quadrillion units in 2013 and going to stay constant untill 2030.
