The line graph illustrates the value of clothing exports from three countries, namely Colombia, Japan and Myanmar, between 1999 and 2003, measured in millions of dollars.
Overall, it is immediately evident that Colombia and Japan followed relatively stable trends over the period, while Myanmar experienced dramatic fluctuations. In addition, Colombia became the largest clothing exporter by the end of the period, whereas Myanmar showed the most volatile pattern among the three countries.
In 1999, Japan dominated the chart with clothing exports of approximately 570 million dollars. Colombia ranked second at around 460 million dollars, while Myanmar recorded by far the lowest figure, at only about 20 million dollars. Over the next two years, Colombia’s export value increased steadily, reaching roughly 650 million dollars in 2001. Similarly, Japan saw a slight rise and peaked at around 600 million dollars in the same year. By contrast, Myanmar experienced a sharp surge, climbing dramatically to a peak of approximately 940 million dollars in 2001, which was the highest figure shown on the graph.
In the final years, despite some fluctuations, Colombia continued to grow and reached a high of about 700 million dollars in 2002 before declining slightly to around 610 million dollars in 2003. Meanwhile, Japan’s exports showed a gradual downward trend, falling steadily to just under 500 million dollars by the end of the period. Myanmar, on the other hand, witnessed a significant drop after 2001, decreasing sharply to about 350 million dollars in 2002, followed by a modest recovery to approximately 440 million dollars in 2003.
