The line graph shows the number of people who took part in five different activities at a social centre in Melbourne from 2000 to 2020.
Overall, it is clear that the film club remained the most popular activity during the whole period. Table tennis saw a strong increase, especially after 2010, while participation in amateur dramatics gradually went down. Musical performances, although having the lowest numbers, showed a slow but steady rise.
In 2000, the film club had around 65 participants. This number went down to about 60 by 2010, before increasing again and reaching nearly 66 in 2020. Martial arts followed a fluctuating pattern. It started at roughly 35 participants, dropped to just above 30 in 2005, and then increased again towards the end of the period.
Table tennis experienced the most prominent growth. The number of participants rose from about 15 in 2000 to almost 20 in 2010, and then increased sharply to over 50 by 2020. On the other hand, amateur dramatics showed a continuous decline, falling from approximately 25 participants to under 10. However, musical performances increased slowly, going from almost zero to around 18 participants over the twenty years.
