The charts illustrate how a train company performed weekly between October and November in 2008. Overall, both of these figures witnessed significant fluctuations throughout the surveyed period. Additionally, while the largest percentage of train trips cancelled was in October, November witnessed the highest delay rates.
There was a marginal increase to 30% in the proportion of trains running late in the second week, before it fell rapidly by the end of October. The first week of November witnessed a recovery period to 10%, equal to that in the third week of October. The following week saw a surge to its highest point of around 55% of trains did not run on time. The train company’s performance dropped gradually to 40%, double that at the beginning of the period.
The percentage of trains cancelled peaked at 7% in the second week, before it later plunged to the initial figure. Erratic behavior can be witnessed in the proportion of cancelled trains for the rest of the period, with about 4% of total trains being cancelled in the final week.
