Overall, it is clear that in England, the percentage of young adult unemployment from 16 to 24 years old were significantly higher than the overall population rates. Additionally, the rates of joblessness in London were also higher than in outside London.

In 1993, starting at 22%, the unemployed group of age from 16 to 24 in London become the highest group. Second was the same aged group in the rest of England which was around 18%. Over the following years, after decreasing rapidly, from 2000s onwards, both groups climbed dramatically to 25% and 21% respectively, and remained the highest ranks compared to the proportion of overall population in England.

Specifically, this rate in London stood at around 14% in 1993, then going down slightly in the next years before rising back towards to 8% by the end of the period.
