It is clear that there was a considerate downward trend in the figures of the first marriages numbers after the year of 1976 appoximately, while the remarriages numbers experienced the opposite trajectory. And the numbers of all marriages increased a bit before reach a peak and experienced a gruadual decline after the culmination.
At the beginning of the period, the numbers of first marriages stood at roughly 350000, compared with 150000 for remarriagers, placing the first marriagers in the leading position. While the numbers of all marriages fluctuated around 400000 in the first 10 years, and then surged in around 460000 to reach a peak before it went down.
A turing point come in 1976, when the figures of first marriages began to plunge from 350000 to 260000, and the numbers of remarriages began a steady climb at about 1991. The all marriages’ numbers continued its downward momentum, and reaching to about 390000 at the end of the period.
