First marriages done by English citizens hovered around 100,000 until 1991, and increased to 200,000 in the year 2001. Approximately 350,000 marriages were solemnized in 1961, and by the year 1971 it rose to 360,000. This figure moderately fell from 300,000 to 200,000 in 1991 and 2001 respectively.
Total number of marriages in 1961 rose at 400,000, and this figure was unchanged until 1961. By the year 1971 it peaked at 450,000 which was the highest number throughout the given period. The amount of all marriages declined modestly to 300,000 in1991, and in the final year it decreased to 250,000.
Overall, it is clear that, the highest people got married in 1971, and remarriages were always the lowest categoery, while total marriages was the topmsot.
