The given line graph illustrates the average annual expenditure on different three telecommunication services: cellphone, nation and international fixed – line service between 2001 and 2010.
In general, the figures for cellphone and international fixed – line services escalated. Moreover, despite being the most consumed in 2001, national fixed – line service saw a substantial downward trend.
Between 2001 and 2003, the expenditure on international fixed – line service increased slightly from under $300 to above $300. This trend was also true for cell phone services, with prices rising from $200 to $300. Conversely, the average amount spent on national fixed-line phone services, was $700 in 2001, fell gradually by approximately $100 in the next two years.
From the year 2003 onwards, the amount of expenditure on foreign landlines dropped to $300 in 2004 and remained at that price. Meanwhile, cell phone service rose dramatically to $600 and stayed constant at that price from 2007 to 2008, followed by an increase to $700 in the subsequent year. The opposite trend can be observed from domestic landlines, with a considerable fall from $600 to $400.
