The line chart illustrates information about the change in the amount of air pollutants emitted from various sources such as industry, transport, and houses over the course of 15 years starting in 1990.
From an overall perspective, it is evident that Factories are the main source of pollution, but hopefully, it experienced a downward trend across the whole period. On the other hand, the shares of pollution of transport and houses are strikingly smaller than industry, even compared to its minimal contribution in later years.
Looking at the details, factories emitted 5.5 million tonnes of pollutants in 1990, this figure decline modestly to 5 million tonnes in 1993, then it fell considerably to 3 million tonnes in 1995, for the rest of the period it kept decreasing at a smaller rate to reach 2 million tonnes by 2005. Transport and houses emission accounted for 0.5 million tonne of pollutants in 1990, but over the first 6 years, transport release rose minimally to 1 million tonne, after that it returned to the beginning figure, then by the end of the period it rose again to 1 million, whereas houses contribution witnessed a narrow fluctuation across the whole period .
If we look at the total air pollutant, it is obvious that it is mostly affected by industry, and it showed the same trend. It stood at 7 million tonnes in 1990, it fell dramatically to 4 millions in 1999, then in kept going down at a smaller rate to reach 3 millions in 2005.
