The line graph illustrates the amount of 3 different sources and the total number of UK air contaminants in between 1990 and 2005.
Overall, a decreasing trend is observable in the total amount of air pollutants. While the number of the origins of air pollution as industry and household emissions was slightly decreasing, the number of transport emissions was stable all the given time.
In 1990, the total amount of air pollutants was at its peak, being just over 7 million tonnes. From 1990 to 1993, there was a slight decrease in the number of atmospheric contaminants. Then, a rapid decrease was observable in the total number, and the overall amount was approximately 5 million tonnes in 1996. After gradual decrease from 1996, the total air pollutants number was at the lowest point in 2005, being just over 3 million tonnes. Harmful emissions from industry experienced a similar trend with the total amount of air contaminants, but was less by approximately 1 million tones all the given period.
Emissions from transport services remained unchanged, being 1 million tonnes, from 1990 to 2005. While toxins from households were pretty stable from 1990 to 1993, they experienced slight fluctuations, and were absent in 2005.
