The chart illustrates four electricity production including thermal, nuclear, hydroelectric, and renewables in France between 1980 and 2010.
From an overall perspective, nuclear power dominated most production while renewable energy was the lowest in yields. In addition, both thermal and hydroelectric power witnessed same quantity.
Looking at the chart for more details, renewable energy reached the lowest peak in production in 1995 meanwhile nuclear power witnessed a significant increase to 350 Tw-h. With thermal electricity in manufacture, after decreasing slightly to 50 Tw-h in 1985, it stayed unchanged in 1995. Besides, hydroelectric fuel fluctuated around 60 Tw-h in production after fifteen years.
Regarding the year 1995 and after that, nuclear electricity still grew up in yields, but it was not as fast as before because it only increased moderately to 430 Tw-h in 2010. Nevertheless, renewable energy was witnessed a first small growth to 25 Tw-h in manufacture in 2010 after remaining unchanged in 2005. By contrast, both hydroelectric and thermal power saw same quantity at 50 Tw-h in yields after fifteen years.
