Overall, the were two countries of France and the UK that had a massive positive increment on tourism spending in the period given, while others such as Spain and Germany were remain stable from 1980 to 1992.
In 1980, Government allocation for tourism in Spain was higher compared to other European counterparts for about 60 million Euro, in contrast, France’s goverment only spent 20 million Euro in the same year. However, in the middle of period given, France increased its tourism spending to slighly 50 million Euro, which is slightly below Spain that gradually decrease its spending.
At the end of period, the UK and France were among the highest in tourism spending, staggering amount of 80 million Euro. Despite showing a positive increment in the final year, Spain remain in the third position for 60 millions Euro, followed by Germany which showed a constant tourism budget around 40 million Euro.
