In general, in 1992, the UK had the highest level of government spending on tourist infrastructure while France had the lowest in 1980 . Government spending in the UK and France increased during this period, while the figure for Spain stayed the same. Germany saw a small rise.
In 1980, Spain spent the most on tourist infrastructure, at about 60 million. The UK followed with around 50 million, while Germany and France were lower, with 30 million and 20 million respectively. Between 1980 and 1982, France spending rose quickly, while the UK saw a slight decrease. The figures for Germany and Spain did not change much during this time.
By 1992, both the UK and France had increased their spending to around 80 million, becoming the top two countries. Spain stayed at the same for the whole period. Germany figure grew slowly, reaching about 40 million in 1992, and became the lowest among the four countries
