The line chart illustrates the data of various entertainment activities which are preferred the most by New Zealand children aged 5-9 in 2007.
Overall, while reading books and going to the park were the most favored activities of New Zealand’s boys, arts and crafts were the most preferred by girls. Notably, there was little to no difference in the percentage of both genders who enjoyed computer games and DVDs.
Most New Zealand males were interested in going to the park, accounting for 25%, followed by the corresponding figure for females was 12%. Moreover, sports were the most favorite activity of males in New Zealand with the proportion of 28% being more than two times as high as that of male counterparts (12%).
Turning to arts and crafts, while 25% of girls were fond of this activity, the proportion of boys accounted for only one-third of it. Similarly, The number of girls reading books was 18%, twice as high as that of boys. DVDs and books’ lovers shared the same proportion, at about 18% whereas the percentage of boys who enjoyed playing computer games was roughly equal to those in Australia.
