The graph provides information about the percentage of female students enrolled in four different university courses, namely computer science, physics, medicine and law, between 1097 and 2015.
Overall, the proportion of female students increased significanly in law, medicine and physics over the given period. In contrast, the interest to computer science has rosen initially but declined noticeably after 1990. By 2015, law course has the highest percentage of female students.
In 1970, woman accounted for only around 10% of law students. But this figure rose sharply over the decades, reaching approximately 80% in 1990 and nearly 100% by 2015. Medicine followed a similar trend, increasing in a steady way from about 15% in 1970 to roughly 90% at the end of the period.
Computer science however showed a different pattern. The proportion of female students increased from about 30% in 1970 to a peak of roughly 70% in 1990. However, this declined sharply afterwards, falling to around 35% by 2015. By contrast, pyhsics experienced a growth throughout the period, rising from approximately 30% in 1970 about 80% in 2015.
