The line graph illustrates how the energy usage in six different sources changed in the UK since 1978 and predictions until 2038 from a 2011 report.
Overall, it is clear that the dominant sector was the petrol and oil, while hydropower, solar and wind, and nuclear had the smallest level of consumption. Moreover, both coal and natural gas experienced an upward trend over the period.
In terms of specific details, as regards petrol and oil, the figure stood at 35 initially and the projects estimate that despite some fluctuations, it will soar to 50 by 2038, which means that it will have the highest level of consumption. A similar pattern will be observed in both coal and natural gas, rising significantly from roughly 15 to 30 and 20 to 25 respectively.
Conversely, as for the remaining ones, the sector categorized as ” nuclear” started at 5 and will increase slightly to nearly 7 at the end of the period. Similarly, the energy of solar and wind will experience a small rise, climbing from just under 5 to over 5 by 2038. However, the period will see an approximately stable trend in the hydropower, starting and finishing at 5 despite of slight fluctuations.
