The given data illustrate the employment rates from 6 countries from two different years: 1995 and 2005.
Overall, employment rates for both men and women from six given countries have risen noticeably over the course of 10 years.
First, the male employment rates in New Zealand and Usa have increased quite significantly, starting at around 60% and grew up to 70% give or take a few. While stopping at a similar rate – 70% -, the rate of employment in the Uk and Australia started a bit behind: at around 56%. For Switzerland and Iceland, we can assume that most of their adults had a job at the given time since their employment levels were on the top notch. This isn’t that surprising due to the fact that they had a pretty good head start. Turning on to the female side, Australia and New Zealand female employment rates didn’t increase that significantly, only 2%. For the Uk and the Usa, on the other hand, they started out at 50%, respectively, and ended up with somewhere near 60% female rates of employment. Another two countries that have the same increased percentage as Uk and Usa are Iceland and Switzerland, landing at around 50% and nearly 70% (in order).
