The purpose of the bar chart is to compare the quantities of tea and coffee imported, measured in tonnes, by Canada, the UK, the USA, and Germany in the year 2007.
At first glance, it is obvious that while coffee was the dominant import in the UK and the USA, Canada stood out for its much higher tea imports compared to coffee, with Germany importing similar amounts of both beverages.
More specifically, the UK recorded the highest coffee imports among the four countries, at around 160,000 tonnes, which was significantly more than its tea imports, at only 20,000 tonnes. Similarly, the USA imported approximately 120,000 tonnes of coffee, three times higher than the figure for tea (around 40,000 tonnes).
By comparison, Canada showed a reverse trend, importing 80,000 tonnes of tea, four times greater than the amount of coffee (20,000 tonnes). Germany, unlike the other nations, imported nearly equal quantities of both drinks, with tea slightly higher at 50,000 tonnes compared to 40,000 tonnes of coffee.
