The graph illustrates the quantity of tea and coffee imported in tonnes by four countries in 2007. Overall, in the UK and the USA tea was more popular than coffee, while opposite figure was showed in Canada and Germany. The UK imported the highest quantity of tea, whereas Canada was the highest coffee importer.
The UK imported the largest amount of tea, at 160,000 tonnes that was significantly higher than that of any other country. Its coffee imports were relatively low, at around 20,000 tonnes. The USA lagging behind, and was the second in tea imports, showing in approximately 120,000 tonnes, while also importing about 40,000 tonnes of coffee.
On the other hand, Canada imported around 80,000 tonnes of coffee, four times more than its tea imports, which were about 20,000 tonnes. Germany showed a more steady figure, importing approximately 50,000 tonnes of coffee and 40,000 tonnes of tea.
