The line graph illustrates the mean closing sales of gold, palladium and platinum between 2013 and 2021. The unit of measurement is in dollars per oz.
Overall, it can be seen that the prices of gold and platinum were much higher than that of palladium in the beginning. This was however changed at the end, as the sales of gold and palladium rose significantly than that of platinum.
At the onset, the sales of gold and platinum were about 1500 dollars per oz. Between 2013 and 2015, these two metals witnessed a gradual decline in prices to just above 1000 dollars per oz. Subsequently, while the sales of gold marginally increased to nearly 1800 dollars per oz till 2021, the sales of platinum hovered around 1000 dollars per oz for the remainder of the period.
The sales of palladium which recorded an all-time low of around 700 dollars per oz initially, surged to finish at the neighborhood of 2400 dollars per oz by 2021.
